He is among one of what are imitation kachinas. Imitation in regards to representing actual physical objects, mostly animals. In this case, his visualization is made to represent the roadrunner. The roadrunner being a sacred part of the hopi culture also circles back into the concept of clans. Families are born into different clans that continues on through the mothers side. My clan is roadrunner. Making my mother roadrunner clan as well.
